I think you're right on the money with the JBL Century. I also like those B&W DM640s with Rock 'n Roll - great full-range sound with plenty of punch.

Good afternoon, from Argenteuil France ;)

The kef 105.2 are very nice with these kind of music and for all to, i have associated them with an old Marantz DC 1180 it has just been restaured, all capes are changed the two filter capacity of 16000 µf have been replaced by Mundorf 22000 µF; They sound great.

Yup - I had forgotten about Cerwin Vega as a good R&R speaker, but man - those things could fill a room with sound! By no means accurate or natural-sounding, but who cares when you've got a kegger going and a spotlight on the disco ball?!

Another great rock & roll speaker, and I had a pair of these in good condition for about a year, is the BIC Venturi Formula Six. These were hung by chains in many discos in the late 70s and are amazing even at lower volume. Lots of bass, great mids. Guitars sound. . .well, I'm running out of adjectives here, but if you ever get a chance to listen to a pair, don't pass it up.

Yeah i love cerwin vega's for rock jazz and blue's but i must say i do like kef's and Jbl as well but i love the bass from my cerwin vega's. I have had some more refined speaker's to but i always go back to my big and loud cerwin's it seems like there's some thing missing with out them.but i guess it come's down to how loud you want to go i no my vega's can take the power when i want to get loud.I would not mind hearing some more altec's tho like some model 15's or A7's to really make a good call I think if i had some altec lansing's i would part with my cerwins or at least put them in my bedroom LOL.. :D :D For the Love of Better Sound
